Energy ratings on replacement windows realy are inportant. they are not just there to baffle you with science they are issued to windows that have been tested to very stringent standards to establish how much heat or cold in other words (energy) travels through a solid body. energy certificates are issued in grades from A to G with an A grade being the best.  The tests measure the efficientcy of both the frame and the glass units. You could have a less efficent frame with high performace glass that may atchieve a C rating or a very efficient frame with just Pilkington K glass units that may attchieve a D or E certificate.

Then again there is the little matter of price. It seems pointless to us to spend say 20% extra on replacing your windows to get an A rated product just to save an extra 1% or so on your heating bills. Thats why we at BCL have developed a window that we think is the best value for money window on the market. Our windows and doors are manufactured from Synseals unique Synerjy suite which is not only one of the most thermally efficient but possibly the best looking window on the matket. The inner pane of glass in all our sealed units is made from Planitherm a very special energy saving glass that out performs pilkingtons K. Our spacer bar that surounds the sealed units is no longer made from aluminium but in stead we use       Super Spacer a revolutionary new product that is 900 times less conductive than aluminium and therefor pracally eliminates condensation. Finally we fill all our sealed units with Argon gas instead of air. Argon is dencer than air and slows down thermal transmittance dramatically.
