Piano Lessons Grantham

I am a private music teacher with a very varied background of both teaching and performing experience. I will list the areas I teach with relevant experience alongside.

Piano: I practise this insrument regularly, exploring a wide repertoire from English Virginal music to contemporary classical and notated jazz, and I am constantly applying my own solutions of technical problems to those of my pupils. I regularly accompany instruments in practical exams, music festivals and rehearsals for choirs, and play in church services.

Keyboard: My practical knowledge follows from that of the piano and I am aquainted with the capabilites of a range of different keyboards.

French Horn: An instrument I practise less regularly but play in scratch orchestras and in wind music at Benslow Music Trust, which run courses of a very high standard.

Trumpet: The instrument I learnt before the French horn but am playing again, mainly in church services in a small ensemble.

Recorders: Descant/treble/tenor/bass. I have recently played in a consort accompanying medieval dance and again, I play on courses at Benslow Music Trust. An instrument we all started on in our generation but later took more seriously when I discovered the wonderful repertoire for treble solo and recorder consorts generally.
