Research shows that music-making benefits children in lots of ways: it improves concentration and physical co-ordination, develops listening, memory, speaking and ordering skills, and builds self-confidence. But sometimes perhaps we are too anxious to justify it in educational terms. Expressing ourselves through music is fun, it’s exciting, it’s creative; making music is part of being human.
Mini Musicians and Musicianship Skills give the opportunity to develop a whole range of musical skills appropriate to any instrument, through games and other activities. Play the keyboard offers the opportunity to learn the basics on an inexpensive instrument in an informal and supportive group setting.
Over the years Helen has developed her own eclectic teaching style, which is very varied, fun and informal. When making plans she likes to allow for creativity and spontaneity – the children’s and her own.
